Health & Well Being

Healthy Movers

Bright Beginnings is 1 of only 10 nurseries and schools nationwide to be chosen to take part in the Healthy Movers initial project by The Youth Sports Trust at Loughborough University.  This has been a great success, each child was given a child sized backpack with resources to use at home with parents, that complemented the physical exercises and activities that we followed in the nursery.

Food for Life Get Together

We are also proud to be chosen as the first nursery to work in partnership with ‘Food for Life Get Together’ Project. We have received a small grant to enable us to start up a gardening club for our children.  We already have a weekly delivery of fresh fruit and vegetables, salads and flowers, to encourage our children to eat healthily.  We also visit a local greengrocer where our children shop with us.

🪥 Supporting Healthy Habits from the Start

As part of our Brush Bus initiative, children in our preschool room brush their teeth together after breakfast each morning.  This daily routine helps to promote good oral hygiene, develop independence, and build lifelong healthy habits.

By making dental care part of the nursery day, we’re supporting children to understand the importance of looking after their own wellbeing.  Please visit this website for more information. https://thebrushbus.com/
